NYX Butter Glosses

These glosses have been out for a while and are definitely my favorite from the drugstore. Whenever I'm running late and need a little extra something, these are what I grab. Today I'm going to review these lip glosses and tell you all the positive and negatives of them. Some positives things about these glosses are…

1. They smell like cake. These have a delicious sweet smell that hits you right when you open the bottle.
2. These are not sticky, which makes them extremely easy to wear.
3. They have a huge color selection. There is bound to be one that you like. From the lightest of color to the darkest.
4. The packaging is so cute. These are also so easy to store wherever you want.
5. The price point is great. They are $5.00 per gloss on the NYX website, but you can find them at many drugstores and Ulta.
6.These are very soft and silky on the lips.

One negative to these lip glosses is they are not very long wearing. These are the type of lip product that you are going to want to pack in your purse wherever you go especially if you are going to be eating or talking a lot!

Swatches
I have four colors here, but I would really love to pick up more. I like to choose more of the lighter colors because these are the ones I like to wear the most. From top to bottom there is Maple Blonde, Creme Brûlée, Tiramisu, and Vanilla Cream Pie.

Now that's charming...

Beachy DIY

Today's post is a super fun diy! After Hurricane Sandy my beach house had to have the whole first floor redone. It looks great now, but I still thought it needed more decorating. I thought making some art for the house would be a great summer project. The materials you will need are a canvas (any size of your choice), sand, Mod Podge, acrylic paint (any colors of your choice), paintbrushes and hairspray. First I started by drawing the flip flop design on the canvas. I sketched two flip flops with polka dots on them leaving  space in the middle of them for the words. Then I used some acrylic paint to color it in. The paint colors I used were a sky blue, a hot pink and a sunny yellow. Next I painted on the words "PPB" which stands for Point Pleasant Beach on the left side. And I wrote "2015" on the right side to indicate the year. Point Pleasant Beach is where my beach house is and I have such great memories there with my family and friends this year. After that was all painted on with two coats I moved on to the sand part. Last time I was at the beach I collected two water bottles filled with sand from our usual spot on the beach. I thought it would have more meaning if the sand came from the beach that we go to, but you can buy sand from a craft store if its not easily accessible. Then I applied a thin layer of Mod Podge to different sections with a paint brush. I poured the sand right on using a red solo cup for more control. I used my fingers to pat in it, and after you are done with all your sections you are left with a beautiful textured artwork. Lastly I sprayed on some hairspray over the artwork to ensure that the sand would stick to the canvas for a log period of time. After that hang it up and enjoy!
