Thanksgiving Traditions

It's that time of year again. The time when we look back on what we have and give thanks. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because of the food, decorations, and the outfits. Today I am going to share some of my Thanksgiving traditions.
The first tradition I have is one that I just recently started last year, and that I continued this year. Last year with my religious group we went to a local senior center and prepared them a meal. Last year we made them tacos and this year we made them pancakes. We talk with them and listen to them tell stories, and it's really fun. I look back and realize how fortunate I am to have family and food on my table everyday, that these people don’t have. We bring them joy in this holiday time if their family doesn’t live near them. They love when we come and they look forward to meeting us. This Thanksgiving season I encourage you to do something to give back. It could really be anything. Try to give the joy of something that you have to others this season.

Another tradition my family has is that we always watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade every Thanksgiving morning. It is a tradition that my parents have done with us every since we were born. One year my dad, uncle, mom, brother and I went the night before to see them blow up the balloons. It was so much fun! Did you know the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City has been going on for 88 years? That’s a long time and always ceases to amaze me. So this Thanksgiving grab your hot cocoa, sit on the couch and watch the parade wight he people you love.

Now That's Charming
